Cook's is a Menlo Park staple! My family has been coming here for my whole life, and I recently went with my uncle. We both ordered the fish and chips (I believe he ordered the cod and I had the halibut). The food comes out super fast and is hot and delicious! The ambiance is definitely no-frills, but the people are very friendly and everything is high quality! I've also shopped for seafood on their store side and the staff members are always super helpful and friendly. Cook's is the best!

Ordered cod fish and chips and clam chowder for takeout. Service was fast and friendly. Portion sizes for the fish were pretty big for the price. The cod was nicely battered, perfectly crunchy on the outside and flaky on the inside. Was also a big fan of the tartar sauce. The clam chowder was decent. Would recommend overall.

Ok. Super cool menu. Lotsa stuff to choose from. Thankfully it's set up so that you can "a la carte" whatever you want. I did it up like this. 12 ounce cioppino It was flavorful, hot and chalk full of fish and various shellfish. I got a cod and a halibut. Both were piping hot and fried to perfection. I got 4 fried shrimp. Also perfectly. Fried. The sauces are delicious. The fries were well fried and tasty. I also got 6 huge fresh shucked oysters. They were fresh and flavorful and super yummy. I chased it all down with an ice cold Tejava tea. Wife got a fried shrimp sandwich with chowder and fries. She declared all of them flavorful and yummy. The total bill was reasonable and the food was great. Staff were friendly and they have an insane fresh seafood counter next door. Awesome random Yelp find. Oh ! And. Free parking lot and clean bathrooms.

This place isn't fancy but definitely a hidden gem. I've been going to this place since I was a kid. I remembered this place recently and took my daughter. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. Now the seafood smell does hit you on the face when you walk in but that's how you know things are fresh. The seafood market is right up the hallway. The prices are reasonable and the food came out quickly. It was fresh and so delicious. I had the halibut and prawns for lunch today. The fish was so fluffy and white. The freshness took over, I love it's my prawns were cooked perfectly. They offer soft drinks, beer and wine. Now you can't go here without trying two must haves....... The house tartar sauce and the crushed ice. Yum Yum Yum I will be returning.

I met a friend here for a weekend lunch after driving by and being enticed. After reading the reviews, we were sold! My friend had the fettucini alfredo with fresh fish, and I had a fresh ahi burger. Prices were reasonable, and portion sizes were just right for lunch. You can order and then find a seat - they will bring orders out to your table. Or you can order takeout fish market items from the other side of the restaurant/shop. Either way, parking is plentiful, and the service is really good. I'd like to come back to try out some other menu items I was debating last time.

Every time we're around Menlo Park, we always stop by to get our fish n chips fix. We like the Halibut fish and chips, oysters and chips, shrimp salad, potato salad, and the macaroni salad. Their foods are consistently delicious and fresh. You can dine in or have it to go. You need to order and pay the food first then they'll bring the food to you. The ambiance is very casual. They also sell a good quality fresh seafoods there. They have enough parking space for everyone. They accept cc payment. Try it and you will be amazed by their food quality and how delicious the seafood there.

Wow.. I wish I knew this place better Cod dish and chips: 5/5: fish was very thick! Batter was just enough! Fries were good too. Clam chowder: 4/5. Not a must have, but if you are craving for it, it wouldn't disappoint. Plenty of parking! Will be back!

This place is right next to the Safeway on el Camino in Menlo Park. I see it bumping on all evenings and was still quite easy to find parking. When we entered, there was a long line of people waiting to order but don't get discouraged. This place is very effectively managed and the lines move quickly. Service is also quick and good! Ordered a Cloppino. It smelt great, tastes fresh and delicious. Very densely packed with fish, definitely not skimping on fish portions. Ambiance is okay. It's pretty much like a food hall but clean. There is a store next door, if you are inclined to buy some fresh fish. Would definitely recommend giving it a try!

The food here is so good!! I was a little concerned when we walked in because the actual market/restaurant seems a little outdated or that you're going to a diner. The prices are very reasonable and much cheaper than I expected for being in the Bay Area. Everything tasted fresh. The clam chowder was creamy and had lots of great flavors. The half shrimp Louie salad was great! Usually I don't like baby shrimp, but these were very fresh and delicious. The calamari was yummy as well, but a little too heavy for me, so I could only eat a couple of them. The fried cod was my favorite. The fish tasted fresh. The tartar sauce tastes homemade and was perfect combo with the fish. And these fries are addicting. It was like they were twice fried or something. And the staff was very friendly! We came an hour before closing and the place was packed. Almost all of the tables taken. We will definitely be back!

What an interesting concept -- this is a restaurant and a market! Location is easily accessible with a parking lot to pull right into. Every order is placed at the counter as soon as you come in, with minimal wait. They also have a spacious dining area for you to enjoy your freshly made order. On the right hand side there's a corridor that leads you to their seafood market with some shelves of pantry stables. I had the 1 piece fried halibut with 1 piece fried cod, substituting fries for salad $17.49 The halibut was so juicy and delicious with the tartar sauce while the cod was more on the lean side but still good. Both were fried well without too much batter $17.49 is not bad, especially for people who enjoy this with fries. If I lived closer, I can see myself trying everything on the menu! So much seafood, gotta fry them all!! Oh and they do have grilled versions as well for people who care about that
